Hyperthyroidism and ECG
ECG abnormalities that are more frequent in patients with hyperthyroidism
 
Sinus tachycardia
  Increased voltage, especially in the young
 
Supraventricular arrhythmias
:
atrial fibrillation
(most common),
atrial flutter
 
Left anterior fascicular block
  Atrial premature systole (
APS
), ventricular premature systole (
VPS
)
  Non-specific ST segment and T wave changes
  Any type of
atriventricular block
(less common)
  In patients with
atrial fibrillation
, it is more difficult to control high ventricular rate if the patient also has accompanying hyperthyroidism.
